Dr. James K. Kirkpatrick

For his undergraduate studies, Dr. Kirkpatrick attended CSU, Chico where he received a BA in biology. He earned his doctor of dental surgery degree at the Washington University school of Dentistry in St. Louis, MO. After graduation, Dr. Kirkpatrick served two years in the US Navy where he underwent intensive training in endodontics.

He then underwent a two-year preceptorship focused on TMJ and facial pain at UCLA. During this time, Dr. Kirkpatrick studied with Dr. Pete Dawson, who is renowned for his accomplishments in the area of temporomandiubular joint disorder. Dr. Kirkpatrick and Dr. Dawson remain friends and colleagues, regularly sharing knowledge and dental expertise. Dr. Kirkpatrick has dedicated 10 years of his life to the research and study of TMJ and related disorders, and continues to pursue the latest information so that he can help patients overcome the constant pain and antagonistic symptoms of TMJ disorder.

In addition, Dr. Kirkpatrick has pursued continued education in occlusion, restorative dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry. He has received training at the Pankey Institute, one of the premier educational facilities for the study of occlusion, the William C. Strupp Postgraduate School of Dentistry, and the Seattle Institute under Dr. Frank Spear. Recently, Dr. Kirkpatrick began advanced studies in implant dentistry and replacement teeth. With approximately 100 hours per year of continued education, Dr. Kirkpatrick stays on the cutting-edge of dentistry and continually expands his expertise.

Dr. Kirkpatrick is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, and a member of the ADA and CDA. He is president elect of the Kern County Dental Society, as well.

In his free time, Dr. Kirkpatrick is an avid woodworker. He has restored several antique cars, made some beautiful furniture, and recently built from scratch a gorgeous, 24-foot, mahogany boat which he and his family enjoy. Dr. Kirkpatrick and his wife, Anne, have two lovely daughters and five grandchildren.

 

Anne Kirkpatrick, Scheduling Coordinator Anne is the first person you will meet when you walk into our office. Her warm and loving personality gives the practice a personal touch. She has been married to Dr. Kirkpatrick for 42 years and during that time has developed a deep understanding of dentistry and patient concerns. She can answer questions about your treatment and will schedule your appointment at a time that’s convenient. She and Dr. Kirkpatrick have two beautiful daughters, two son-in-laws, and five grandchildren. When she’s not working, Anne enjoys painting, gardening, and boating.
Pamela, Registered Dental Hygienist Pamela has been a member of our team for over ten years. She has both an AS degree in dental hygiene and an RDH license. While in hygiene school, Pamela received an award for her professionalism. She loves working in an environment built on trust and educating patients about the benefits of oral health. She is currently a member of both the ADHA and the CDHA. Pamela has been married for 28 years and has two daughters. In her free time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and cooking.
Charlene, Dental Hygienist Charlene received her training at the Taft College of Hygiene, where she was recognized for her professionalism. She has been with the practice for six years and enjoys our relaxed environment and patient-focused philosophy. She loves helping people achieve optimal oral health and educating our patients on the benefits of oral hygiene. Charlene has been married for 20 years, and she and her husband have a five-year-old son. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping and watching movies.
Kristi, Dental Hygienist Kristi attended Taft College where she received her AS in dental hygiene. She has been with our team for over three years and enjoys getting to know patients on a personal level. She takes great pleasure in educating our patients on oral hygiene and seeing the quality results we produce. Kristi has been married for six years. She has three dogs, a Chihuahua, a boxer, and a German short-haired pointer. Kristi’s interests include horses, off-road sports, and cooking.
Sheryl, Registered Dental Assistant Sheryl has 23 years of expertise in the field of dentistry. She received her training from the San Joaquin Valley College Dental Assistant Program. Sheryl is like one of the family. She has been with the practice for ten years and maintains our high standards of excellence. Helping people achieve gorgeous, long-lasting smiles is top-priority for Sheryl and our practice. After work, Sheryl enjoys spending time with her two daughters.
Stacey, Registered Dental Assistant Stacey has been making people smile for over 23 years. She is proud to be a ten-year staff member and finds her job both rewarding and fun. Our friendly, open atmosphere makes it easy for her to come to work every day. Most of all, Stacey enjoys the close personal relationships she develops with our patients. Stacey and her husband have three wonderful children. When she’s not working, she enjoys cooking, water sports, and spending time at the beach with her family.
Patricia, Registered Dental Assistant Patricia graduated from the Bakersfield College Dental Assisting Program. She has been in the field of dentistry for 22 years and has been part of our team for over 15 years. Making people feel comfortable so that they can have the beautiful smile they desire is what Patricia enjoys doing every day. She loves working with people who are dedicated to providing exceptional dental healthcare. Patricia and her husband have been married for 22 years. They have two children, a son in college and a daughter in high school. In her spare time, she enjoys water sports, baking, and camping.
