Dental Implants

Studies show that 69% of adults have lost at least one tooth, whether from decay, disease, or injury. If a missing tooth isn’t replaced, it can result in bone loss, bite problems, and an increased risk for cavities and periodontal disease. Dr. Kirkpatrick has taken advanced coursework in implant dentistry and replacement teeth so that he can provide our patients with options.

Dental implants are a modern solution for patients missing one, several, or all of their teeth. A small, titanium post is placed into the jawbone. The bone fuses to the implant in a process called osseointegration. Once the site has healed, Dr. Kirkpatrick attaches a permanent restoration. Dental implants can be restored with crowns for individual teeth, a bridge or partial for several missing teeth, or a full denture.

The dental implant imitates a natural tooth root, stimulating bone growth and providing a solid anchor for the tooth. Patients will need sufficient bone tissue to receive dental implants. After a comprehensive evaluation, Dr. Kirkpatrick can determine whether dental implants are right for you. Once in place, a dental implant can last a lifetime.
